Dragging with Flip (Beginner)

Few months ago I wrote this tutorial on how to drag objects with flip. The feedback was very positive, even thou so many steps were required to achieve the results. With that in mind I decided to make it a native feature, available since version 2.1. In sum, what before was an intermediate tutorial now is a “no-brainier” one.

When completed, you will achieve this effect:

You can download the project files here. After unzip it, save the unzipped Drag Orientation folder under your Kwik default project folder. Don’t forget to install the latest Kwik 2 bits (2.1 or above).

Setting the environment
In Photoshop, open file page1.psd (not the project) from folder Drag Orientation. Then create a new Kwik iPad project, using the current page as first page – use any name you want for your project;

The two layers in this page are:

– Layer_1 (used as background)

– kwkwitch (the main character) in the center of the page. This is going to be the draggable layer

Enabling the drag
Select the layer kwkwitch, then go to (in the Toolset area) Interactions, and pick Drag object. It will open the following window:

Enter a name for your drag component, select the Layer kwkswitch checkbox. Then, enable the Auto flip images checkbox (this will do all the magic for you) and set the Original direction to Left (as you can see, the witch image is pointing to the left).

Save it pressing the Create button.

Publish your project and enjoy the results! Much simpler, no?
