This shows why Kwik not gets better. The sound really are not playing. Put about 30 sounds in a page and/or have an app with about 30 pages with several sounds. Eventually after several pages, sounds will mute and app has to restarted. This is in simulator and on device when using kwik to handle sounds. Who is lying and why? Good grief. I purchased a license and want to use it (sometimes). Other have also reported the same issues prrviously, do a search in the forum. Basically everything except placing image elements has to be done by external code, when wanting a stable app.The reasons you give for sound not playing include what I say: kwik has issues with assigning channels. Also what you say here:"- some users have reported that WAV format usually not plays well on iOS (MP3 is a better option);"makes we wonder how anything like this can be claimed. .wav versus .mp3 according to good practice have to be used appropriately according to the respective sound/scenario, this never has caused, at least me, trouble in Corona.Btw. when using "short file" option the sounds will not play, first this was with the sounds that got this option set, now it is with the other sounds and sometimes still with those that get this option. The dialog opening and using the sound dialog breaks things. It is reproducible, just try it. I have no time going into the code and looking for the reason. The global sounds always have been an issue due to several different problems that occurred. The sound dialog was and is flawed, others as well. The fade in is wrongly set too. It would get set to 0.5 sec when it should be 0 it looks from the code. Also, the other bug I reported last week got fixed, look at the release history. I did not see it reported before. Just say thanks to users who still use kwik sometimes and report the worst issues it has. And you others catering here get a life. The climate here is really the contrary of creativity etc..(I also made a copy of this page, such collective harassment says a lot about this company/spirit around here. Any bug/issue report that actually IS a bug/issue gets treated like a personal problem of the user, what is the motivation behind that? And yes, there were such a lot of bugs and issues that kwik drastically interfered with deadlines and caused major frustration. Since the question has been raised, or rather a suggestion was made: I do have friends, but would choose anytime to have none rather than mob as "friends".)
The name was as other names, short alphanumeric string, I had to go back to backup to remove, the kwik file is too complex for me to edit. After some more days putting sound in scenes:Currently, the ONLY way to *reliably* play any sound, is to manually code it in external code. It is possible to load it in kwik, but playing it has to be done in external code. Then sound plays *every* time as it should. Using kwik to do it leads to sounds playing once and not again in scene, and other sounds being played instead. There is something wrong with sounds in the kwik code.
actually, that was layer sequence again. I ran into this again since I use that feature as “timeline” and usually want to hide the text…
I was thinking more of using save and load in custom code, but I understand that being a level editor is not the primary goal for kwik.March 3, 2013 at 12:13 am in reply to: [NOT A BUG] inconsistencies with layer properties dialog #14384
just saw that the “render as” is being incorrectly assigned to layers when closing the dialog. When opening it again, user can correct it and close dialog again. Sometimes this has to be repeated twice for a given layer until kwik remembers correct setting.
thanks for info, that sounds possible.
you could just put inprint ("400")--some text long enough--should do just to confirm that it should work, would be good to know
yet worse: no element has to be deleted, just add custom code and the project will not open text time you try to open it. It is really true. I now tested this about 7 times. While open (as long as not deleting anything) it works, makes build and everything, but after closing it will not open. This concerns projects that have pages with custom code added.Maybe it is the amount, I now have almost 400 lines, maybe that is too much for some reason. Could you check with an external code that has 400 lines if that works for you?
actually, it is also affecting deleting a page from kwik list if there is external code anywhere. delete any page closes kwik file and it cannot be opened anymore.
No, I did not modify the kwik file, this is a file I leave alone since I do not understand what is written there.I just began using kwik for today, and started from scratch 3 times to confirm this:deleting any custom code item from kwik list deletes ALL items and destroys the whole project (it cannot be opened anymore)NB this is with brand new projects, just pages and backgrounds, then creating 1 custom code/external code item and then delete it -> everything is gone and project closes and cannot open anymore.Kwik current release version, CS6, Mac system set to US, current Adobe flash version.
Also, the size of the object is not read from the layer that is used to replace, but form the layer that has the image that will be replaced. It would help if the correct size could be put into the code in addition to the file name, since it then would be possible to use any dummy object.
Thanks for offering this, however, I started over and in the new kwik file it renders the code as expected. The old kwik file would not even load into photoshop after closing it. What caused it: I had made in layer properties several layers render as a layer and then, due to I had to change the layer name, again opened the layer properties dialog and assigned those layers again to the layer with new name.(So again, yes it works, but it gets messy when user changes anything in the course of working with the project, I hope that this will improve with time, since oftentimes one thing or another will have to be changed inside a project. -> feature request: backup kwik file before opening in case user forgets to do so :D)
Just a follow up on this: foldable page folders. So that pages could be grouped into "chapters" and hidden while not in use. I know it is not affecting the app code, but I think it could be helpful while developing the book/app.February 19, 2013 at 5:06 pm in reply to: [NOT A BUG] current release: language options non-functional #14226
Thanks for helping! To the supersmart user:I reported numerous issues where there really where bugs. That, plus the interaction with dev did not increase my confidence in kwik and did cost me time. You do not know me at all, so just keep this stuff you think is wise for yourself.February 19, 2013 at 12:05 pm in reply to: [NOT A BUG] current release: language options non-functional #14224
Just make any page, insert any layer and make this layer a language replacement. Make the build. Run in simulator. You will get this error. I will try to send something later but I dare say that currently no-one, not just me, is unable to produce multi-lingual apps with kwik 2.2.4.
