    in reply to: How to trigger an audio file at different times/delays? #84286

    Gareth, did you try to create an Action to play the audio (set to 0 delay) and then create Timers with different delays to play the audio whenever you wish? Hope it helps.

    You have not put the licensing key in your sample’s config.lua.
    I did it in my config.lua and Published again. The same result – letterbox failed.
    I then replaced my config.lua with the config.lua from your sample, i.e. without the key. It worked, letterbox worked.

    I have in the meantime discovered a “read to” file from the Corona Sample as mentioned before in this threat. It says:

    “This app shows how to check if your application is licensed from the Google Play store. This sample app will not work correctly unless it is built and uploaded to the google play store, although you don’t have to publish it. You also have to put in your own key into the config.lua file. It might take the play store a few hours to register your uploaded app. During this time you will get a “Not market managed” error.”

    Does it mean that the code does not work properly in the Simulator when config.lua has the licensing key on it? And it will work when on the store? Does it make sense to you? If so, I have then to try it. I am sending you my latest config.lua file. If you could please have a quick look at it and see if I have there any oddity, I would be very grateful.

    The letter box fails on iPad mini and on all non 2048×1536 px devices. This happens even with the license key block inserted in the config.lua generated by Kwik. I have inserted that block of code in various places in the config.lua file and does not work.
    I have only tested in the Corona Simulator. I have not yet published in the the store for testing purposes. I have also not tried to install the app on an Android device. I would like to resolve the letter box issue beforehand.
    Thanks for the support.

    I have found out something similar to what you referred to above. This is in:
    Corona SDK/Sample Code/Monetization/Licensing.

    The respective config.lua code is as follows:

    application =
    {
    	content =
    	{
    		width = 320,
    		height = 480,
    		scale = "letterbox",
    		fps = 60,
    	},
    	license =
    	{
    		google =
    		{
    			key = "Your Key Here",
    			-- This is optional, it can be strict or serverManaged(default).
    			-- stric WILL NOT cache the server response so if there is no network access then it will always return false.
    			-- serverManaged WILL cache the server response so if there is no network access it can use the cached response.
    			policy = "serverManaged",
    		},
    	},
    }

    This code is much simpler than the code I have in the project (please see above), which deals with scaling and letterbox. It seems not to be the case of the Corona Sample Code.

    I am still in a position from where I do not know how to proceed. Help will be very much appreciated.

    Thanks for the clarification.
    I have just tried to follow the above instructions and ma facing a problem with it.
    The app does not fit properly on the screens of the devices, including iPad mini. It loses the letterbox setting and does not re-scale properly.
    Apparently this is to do with the piece of code which has to go into the config.lua file as follows:

    application =
    {
       license =
       {
          google =
          {
             key = "OHkoaGu20QVSpSZbYX28ry18GTvNvbKi"
             policy = "serverManaged",
          },

    },
    }

    (I have reduced the size of the key string for the purpose of this post)
    I have tried to place the above code in different (“reasonable”) places but with no success.
    Any help on where exactly place the code on config.lua?Thanks in advance.

    config.lua

    local kScale = "letterbox"
    if ( string.sub( system.getInfo("model"), 1, 4 ) == "iPad" and display.pixelHeight == 1024) then     -- all iPads checking
       application =
       {
            content  =
            {
                 width = 1536,
                 height = 2048,
                 fps = 60,
                 scale = kScale,
                 imageSuffix = {
                    ["@2"] = .5,
                 }
            },
       }
    elseif ( display.pixelHeight > 1024 ) then -- iPhone 5 (and all other high-res devices) checking - uses the iPad Air Retina image
       application =
       {
            content  =
            {
                 width = 1536,
                 height = 2048,
                 fps = 60,
                 scale = kScale,
            },
       }
    else  -- all other devices
       application =
       {
            content  =
            {
                 width = 1536,
                 height = 2048,
                 fps = 60,
                 scale = kScale,
                 imageSuffix = {
                    ["@2"] = .4,
                 }
            },
       }
    end

    I am in the phase of expanding my apps to Google Play and am now faced with the licensing issue.

    My questions:
    1-in the Kwik Project Settings/Advanced Settings we have a box where to put the licensing key generated by Google in the Developers Console. If I make this input do I need to do anything else?
    2-after the above input how should I proceed with the Corona Android Build Setup as far as Keystore and Key Alias is concerned?
    3-does this method protect us against piracy?
    4-or should I follow the instructions as per the http://coronalabs.com/blog/2013/03/26/androidizing-your-mobile-app/ instructions?

    I am a bit confused since I expected to see the pieces of code as referred to in the Corona instructions (4 above) in the Build Settings/Main/Config.lua files as generated by Kwik (with the key pasted in as per 1 above).

    Any help on how to publish to Android would be very much appreciated.

    Thanks for the answer.

    I am having some behaviors I was not expecting, but this may be because I am not doing things exactly how it should be.

    I basically use the option of not publishing the main.lua for two basic reasons:

    -embedded fonts may not appear in the build.setting files when re-publishing; I always need to check/include the necessary piece of code.
    -I need to add “português” in the main.lua file to fix the Portuguese language issue, which you are aware of.

    This is not complicated, but sometimes I forget one or another (or both).

    Thanks again.

    You may have non-“standard” characters in your Kwik project, which results in trouble, depending on the Kwik version you have used to create your project.
    Try to open your kwik file in NotePad++. Then save it with Encodind/Encode UTF 8.
    Warning: Before doing that save your kwik file somewhere, just in case.
    Hope it helps.

    It seems that you have missed part of the code.

    Where you have earsdad (I think this is what you have written-I can not see very well) on line 765 replace by

    onearsdadEvent

    Please not that this works as follows:

    on
    your layer name (earsdad?)
    Event

    all together

    Use Notepad++ again to edit the code.

    As far as page 13 is concerned I do not know. Try to solve the button issue and see what happens.

    It seems that there something not working well with your set up of the new version. I have no problem with it.
    I suggest that you re-download version 3.5.6 and re-install it and see if the problem persists.
    If yes, then send an email to support@kwiksher.com with a detailed explanation of the situation. It will help Nayoa to diagnose the problem.
    If you are not in a rush you may wait a while before sending that email and in the meantime some other mate may come with a solution.

    Could you be more precise? What is actually happening? What did you do? Is it a new situation or have you always been unable to create interactive buttons (e.g. has this been a cause of K3.5.6)?

    Can you post a copy/paste of what Corona says on line 765 of your Corona project? If you do not know how to do it, just get Notepad++ (free) and open page 6. Do this message appear as a result of the line of code I have provided?

    There is also something going on on your page 3, line 711, I guess!

    It would be a nice feature, indeed. However, I believe that this may be somewhat complicated to do.

    It took me a while to figure out.
    Try to add the following code to you button through Add External Code. You can do it just after your END if.

    self:removeEventListener(“tap”, onnameofyourbuttonimageEvent )

    You have to replace
    nameofyourbuttonimage
    by the name of the image layer of your button. Not the name of the button.

    Publish and see the result.
    Hope it helps.

    in reply to: PUBLISH RANGE OF PAGES #84180

    This is already possible!
    On the white square of the Kwik panel (on the right side of the button where you select to publish just one page) you can write the number of the page until you want Kwik to publish.
    Example:
    Suppose that you are on page 5 and what to publish from page 5 to page 8. You only need to write “8” on that box and run Publish (with or without publishing images). Kwik will publish pages 5,6,7 and 8. Try to do the other way around – be on page 8 and write page 5 and you will see what happens when you Publish.
    Hope it helps.
