ParticipantNovember 12, 2014 at 3:37 pm #83147So I just discovered Kwik last week. It looks awesome and I’m ready to buy the full version because I have a handful of interactive ebooks to make, but the site says I can’t buy until late 2015? Seriously?
All my books are over 20 pages so using the trial won’t get me anywhere.eric

Spend the time learning the great software so when it does come out you can make all your books quickly. We average an app every two weeks with this software!Jorge
ParticipantNovember 13, 2014 at 9:13 am #83149There is, indeed, the expectation of a major improvement (different experience!) of Kwik to come in Q1 2015. I am with Eric, take the time to prepare things and learn with the current Kwik.
Eric, what you mean with “we average an app every two weeks”? It means that having all the resources (images, sounds, etc.) you assemble the app with K in two weeks (average) – how many people working on it with Kwik?

I read something that said late Q2 of 2015, and we can’t wait that long. We have a May deadline for 2 interactive books.
If you think it is going to be Q1 then I guess that will be a different story…Another question: Can Kwik 2 do all of the things I need? Is the downloadable version of 2 free?
We have two children story books that need to have:
-20+ pages
-read aloud/text highlight
-minor animationCan Kwik 2 do all that?

ParticipantNovember 13, 2014 at 10:38 am #83151You are right, it is Q2 indeed.
“We hope to bring an entirely new Kwiksher experience, with Kwik version 4 coming back in the second quarter of 2015!”
I would not invest in K2. It may be very difficult to migrate from K2 to K4, and K3 is more stable, updated (bugs, etc.) and more solid.eric

Yes just me (I’m actually Maria, Eric is my boss and he owns the account), and we started making them in June and we have 12 so far, with two more in review for apple as we speak, and one more ready for upload to iTunes connect tomorrow (the snowflake game).
We work with a speech therapy company so we made a lot of speech therapy apps, and some exercise ones. But usually either my boss or me records the audio (the narration) and the sound effects. Usually me if I am pressed for time. I usually take 1 week to record, name, edit sounds, draw, scan, and color all my images and one week to build. It depends on the complexity of the app, for example the last app was VERY simple but had 80+ pages and 900+ sounds, so it was just a week of putting all the sounds in the right spot, the animations and clicks were the same for each page. It is very quick turnaround, I would like more time to really work on the art, but we want to keep turning them out to keep our revenue coming in. They are very simple apps, and early next year we will start making more complex games, with possibly a different platform (game maker or game salad) but Kwik is easy for our therapy apps and any more book ideas we have. Here is a link to our store if you want to check out any let me know =) maria@dfwpts.comhttps://itunes.apple.com/us/artist/preferred-mobile-applications/id779885959
