Set Language
Set Language

The Set Language window allows you to configure layers with language. According to language idom(en, sp, jp etc), Kwik choose the layer to be displayed.
For example, let’s assume you have 3 layers named
- english_text
- spanish_text
- japanese_text
Let’s make these layers to belong to a language group of english_text
Language groups are critical. They will always be named using the first layer used (which may cause some confusion at the first moment).
Firstly select the “english_text” layer and click the Set Language tool, the following window appears:

The Language group sets the name which layers (“spanish_text” and “english_text”) are going to be associated. In our example, ** NEW ** is the option (being the first group created in the project).
- Layer: english_text
- Language group: ** New **
- Language: English
As the selected layer content will show up only in the English version of the page, in the Language select English. This creates the language group english_text.
For other language, in order to configure the spanish_text layer, select it and click Set Language again. Now, in Language group, select english_text that is the name of the group where spanish_text should belong to, and set Language to Spanish.
- Layer: spanish_text
- Language group: english_text
- Language: Spanish
If you add japanese_text,
- Layer: japanese_text
- Language group: english_text
- Language: Japanese
If your project has more than one language, BEFORE publishing your pages, make sure you have an entry in each language for each layer you selected as multilingual. For example, in the case above, if you forget to set japanese_layer into the language group, it would generate an error.
In the example above, you need to select “english_text” (being this the first layer you set as a new group)and you can set it with spanish layer/japanese layer. If you set New to spanish or japanese layer, you will see an error when running App.
