Multiplier

The Multiplier Replacement window allows you to repeat the content of the selected layer. For example, you can snow, rain, and many other things using just one image element. Select the layer you want to replace with multiple copies and click the Multiplier replacement. The following window appears:

Information about the current layer content will appear in the top of the window (position and size). It is important to match the same layer content size and position with the final movie clip size.

• Amount: number of copies created using the current layer as sample;

• Time interval: time, in seconds, between the drawing of each copy;

• Distance: is the distance, in pixels, between each copy. Random, will draw the copies using the boundaries fields below. Fixed, will draw the copies using the X and Y fields at the right side;

• Rotation: angle, in degrees, for each copy (it will be randomly created between the two values in the text fields). If you want the same angle for all copies, set both text fields to 0;

• Play forever: when checked, will play the multiplier again when the last object is created (for example, if amount is 5, the loop will restart after the 5th object is drawn);

• Random boundaries: sets the minimum and maximum X and Y positions for each copy. For example, if you need to create copies across the full screen horizontal dimensions (from pixel 0 to 1024, which is the maximum resolution for the old iPad), only uses the X boundaries.

• Alpha: is the amount of minimum and maximum transparency we want to apply to each copy;

• Starts: sets when the multiplier starts. Options are:

  • When page starts: in this case, the multiplier automatically starts with the page;

  • Wait request: in this case, the multiplier will only play if activated by a button or action;

• Scale boundaries: sets the minimum and maximum X and Y object scale for each copy;

• Enable physics: if checked, sets the page to start the physics engine;

• Gravity: if Normal is checked, objects will fall from the top. Invert makes object float to the top;

• Wind: will add some force to the gravity environment, simulating the wind effect in lighter objects;

• Is sensor: if enabled, bodies do not collide with each other;

• Circular shape: if checked, set the bodies as circular shape, instead the default rectangular;

• Weight boundaries: sets the minimum and maximum amount of weight to each copy

note: A group called gp_LAYER_NAME, containing all layer copies, will be created. Each copy is called LAYER_NAME[num] inside the group
